Director of Development and Outreach

Film Pittsburgh seeks a dynamic and visionary Director of Development and Outreach to help grow and shape its fundraising future. We are in search of a team player who is highly motivated by our mission to raise the necessary funds to present exemplary film programming throughout the year. The selected candidate will have a thorough knowledge of best-practices for non-profit development, be highly organized and detail oriented, and possess the necessary character and personality to nurture existing stakeholders while identifying and recruiting new ones.

Responsibilities

  • Develop short and long-term fundraising plans to meet the needs of the organization
  • Implement the organization’s fundraising and outreach strategies for individuals, communities, corporations and foundations
  • Execute grant proposals and other funding requests
  • Plan and implement activities that build awareness of the organization among potential sponsors and donors
  • Build and support board and committee participation in fundraising activities
  • Maintain and expand a database of current and prospective donors
  • Manage sponsor and donor benefits
  • Assist with box office sales and guest services during film festivals and events

Qualifications

  • A minimum of five years of work experience preferably in non-profit development
  • A demonstrated history of success in fundraising and outreach
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Exceptional customer service skills when interacting with donors, patrons, and volunteers
  • Excels at managing multiple projects simultaneously and judicious at prioritizing
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Proficient computer skills including CRM databases (Salesforce or Patron Manager preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning
  • Valid driver’s license

Film Pittsburgh is an events-based organization, so the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed is required. Our small, but dynamic team works closely together, often lending a hand in many capacities during peak times.

Office and Communications Coordinator – Part-time

Film Pittsburgh seeks a part-time Office and Communications Coordinator to assist with communications, publicity, web and social media marketing, and general administrative tasks and operations. We are in search of a team player who is highly motivated by our mission to present exemplary film programming throughout the year. Ideal candidates are self-directed, comfortable interacting with the public, and eager to play an integral role on a dynamic team. This position requires evenings and weekends as needed during film festivals and has the potential for growth within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Office and Communications Manager with social media messaging, web-based marketing, and publicity for all programs and events
  • Utilize analytics and survey data to improve outreach and communications
  • Provide support in gathering data for final reporting
  • Research potential interview subjects and content for blog
  • General administrative and clerical work as necessary, such as coordination of mass mailings, scheduling and preparing for meetings, and answering telephones
  • Assist with box office sales and guest services during film festivals and events

Qualifications

  • B.A. in marketing, communications, or related field
  • At least 2 years of communications, marketing, and/or event management and promotion experience
  • Demonstrated experience with new media outreach and social media platforms
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Experience with WordPress CMS (or similar content management systems)
  • Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and InDesign is a plus
  • Exceptional ability to work independently, set priorities, and complete work accurately and on time

This is a part-time position (average of 10 – 15 hours per week). Work hours are flexible within a Monday-Friday schedule, but will include evenings and weekends during film festivals.
