FAQs

This is my first time at the JFilm Festival—what should I expect?

Welcome! Now in its 25th season, the JFilm Festival is a beloved cultural event in Pittsburgh. Many films featured in JFilm will only show once in Pittsburgh, so screenings and events often sell out. We recommend arriving 30 minutes early to allow time to grab a snack and secure your seats in the theater. Many screenings are followed by special events, including visiting filmmakers, panel discussions, Film Schmooze conversations, and parties; visit our Events page for a full listing of supplementary programs.

Read on for more FAQs, and enjoy the show!

How do I get my tickets that I purchased online?

All online tickets will be held at the Will Call table located in the lobby of each theater. Please arrive at least 20 minutes before start time to pick up your tickets and guarantee seating. In the case of a sell-out, unclaimed tickets will be sold 5 minutes before show time. No refunds or cancellations.

I bought a Festival Pass—now what?

Thanks for getting a festival all-access pass! The festival pass does not act as a ticket reservation, so the first step is to reserve spots at the movies you’d like to see. Check out the schedule and give us a call at 412-426-FILM (3456) to reserve spots at your selected screenings.

The Festival Pass is a lanyard you will pick up at the Will Call table at the first screening you plan to attend.

Can I buy tickets at the door?

Film Pittsburgh events draw large audiences and it is recommended that you purchase your tickets online in advance. However, we do offer ticket sales at the door of each venue. Cash or credit cards are accepted.*

*Cash only at AMC Mount Lebanon 6

What if a film event is sold out and I didn't purchase a ticket in advance?

In the case of a sellout, we have a limited number of front row seats that we will make available for sale at the door prior to the screening. If the front row sells out, we will create a wait list for any additional seats that may become available (due to no-shows). Please arrive at the theater 30 minutes prior to the start of the screening to be placed on a wait list. Any available tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis, cash only.

Am I eligible for youth pricing?

Youth prices apply to individuals 18 and under.

Can I get a refund if I don't use my tickets?

Sorry, Film Pittsburgh does not offer any refunds or exchanges.

How do I find out about accessibility accommodations?

We do our best to accommodate individuals of all abilities, though certain venues are more accessible than others. If you need accessibility accommodations, please contact us in advance of the event at 412-426-FILM (3456).

Hollywood Theater-Dormont – On-street parking

AMC Mount Lebanon 6 – Free parking in the Galleria lot

How early should I arrive at a screening?

JFilm screenings often sell out and JFilm patrons like to get there early! We recommend arriving 20-30 minutes early to secure your desired seat.

How long are the Q&A sessions?

Post-film Q&As begin immediately after the screening and generally run about 20 or 30 minutes.

What is Priority Reserved Seating?

Priority Reserved Seating refers to a section of the theater reserved for VIP donors. There are a limited number of Priority Reserved tickets available for purchase in advance (when applicable) for a slightly increased ticket price.

What is Film Schmooze?

Sponsored by the University of Pittsburgh Jewish Studies Program, Film Schmooze is a casual post-film discussion led by a local scholar or expert on the film’s subject matter. Visit our Events page for a complete listing of Film Schmooze events.

How can I become a volunteer?
