Created by Pittsburgh-based filmmaking duo Brian and Cody Hartman in conjunction with PMI Films and Hawk Hill Pictures, Unsinkable (renamed Unsinkable: Titanic Untold) dramatizes the political fallout of the Titanic disaster, with Sen. William Alden Smith (Cotter Smith, Mindhunter) investigating who should be held responsible for the tragic sinking.

The cast also includes Fiona Dourif (The Blacklist), Daina Griffith (The Dark Knight Rises), Jayne Wisener (Sweeney Todd), Karen Allen (Raiders of the Lost Ark), and many recognizable Pittsburgh-based talent, cast by Nancy Mosser Casting.

The film was shot entirely in Western Pennsylvania, transforming various locations in Pittsburgh to replicate those of the time period. (For example, Heinz Hall was transformed into the famous Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York City.)

Currently, the filmmaking team is across the pond paneling at exclusive screenings of Unsinkable, attended by local celebrities and descendants of Titanic survivors and garnering positive reviews. Their first screening since Three Rivers Film Festival was in Belfast, Northern Ireland, followed by screenings in London and Southampton, England. The film will return to the States for a private New York City premiere on April 3.

Unsinkable will be released in select theaters nationwide, plus in Canada, the UK, and Ireland, on April 12, 2024. Presale tickets are available for select cities all over the country. 

Pittsburgh locals can see Unsinkable at the Lindsay Theater in Sewickley from Friday, April 12 through Thursday, April 18, with plenty of showtimes every day. (The April 11 showtime followed by a Q&A with the cast and crew is currently sold out.)
