50 Children: The Rescue Mission of Mr. and Mrs. Kraus
Despite huge risks, and a wide lack of support from those in the U.S., Gilbert and Eleanor Kraus—a Philadelphia lawyer and his wife—undertook a mission to transport Jewish children of families desperate to escape the oncoming Nazi terror to the United States. The Kraus’ story is artfully and effectively illustrated through archival sources, visual re-enactments, and interviews and is the first portrayal of the Kraus’s kindertransport efforts.
