Noa is a thirty-something Israeli living in Berlin. Perhaps it’s the rejection of her graduate thesis (on untranslatable words!) or the jealousy she feels towards her boyfriend Jorg (he’s a sought after musician) that causes her to skip town and head home over Yom Hazikaron and Yom Ha’atzmaut. But it doesn’t take long for the strained relations with her dysfunctional family to pick up from where they left off. Her close relationship with her ailing grandmother, however, reminds her of what is really important in life. A touching, often humorous family drama, Anywhere Else is the recipient of numerous international awards for artistic achievement, including from the prestigious Berlin and Karlovy Vary International Film Festivals.
