Eight-year-old maid Toha goes to great lengths to ensure that her best friend Nelly, the daughter of her wealthy employer, has a successful birthday party in this poignant debut feature exploring classism in modern-day Cairo. Director Sarah Goher is an Egyptian-American writer and producer, who has worked on Marvel Studios' Moon Knight (2022). Happy Birthday, her directorial debut, premiered at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival, where Sarah won three awards: Best International Feature, Best International Screenplay, and the Nora Ephron award for a distinguished female filmmaker.
