Mabul (The Flood)
In this award-winning drama, Mabul – The Flood – is an allegory for the events befalling a dysfunctional Israeli family. The mother is having an affair; the father is a pot-smoking pilot grounded because of his habit, and the son, Yoni, is a street-wise yet sweet boy preparing for his Bar Mitzvah – and his portion is Noah, which recounts the story of the Flood. When the family’s long-forgotten autistic son Tomer is unexpectedly sent home to live with them, the family is swept up in an emotional tide that threatens them.
