Once in a Lifetime
Everyone has given up trying to educate this loud, unruly group of inner-city kids, except for Anne, a dedicated history teacher at a French high school. Against the rest of the faculty’s better judgment, Anne enrolls the class in a national competition whose theme is child victims of the Holocaust. It’s no surprise that, at first, the teens are resistant, but a visit to the classroom by a Holocaust survivor moves the bar just enough for some of them to begin the journey to self-enlightenment. What transpires is a powerful testament to the enduring impact of the Holocaust in transforming today’s young people. This film is in French, with subtitles.
