Plastic Man: The Artful Life of Jerry Ross Barrish
Pittsburgh Premiere

Years before DIY and working with recyclables became the rage, Jerry Barrish started collecting discarded plastic and repurposing it into sculptures. Now retired from 50+ years as a bail bondsman, the gruff sculptor focuses entirely on his whimsical, evocative art. This film is as colorful as its subject and his artwork.

“Five plastic thumbs up!” Philip Kaufman, Filmmaker, The Right Stuff, The Unbearable Lightness of Being

“Jerry Barrish’s talent for creating soulful sculptures from soulless plastic and rubber is nothing short of amazing, yet it’s only one facet of this endlessly surprising portrait of a genuine iconoclastic.” Michael Fox, KQED Arts, San Francisco
