Why the Jews?
Pittsburgh Premiere

Why have the Jews been so persecuted throughout history? From the Babylonian destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem, to the Spanish Inquisition, to the pogroms in Eastern Europe, to the Holocaust of World War II—why the Jews? And why does it seem that Jewish achievement outpaces the rest of the world? Making up only .2% of the world’s population, Jews have been awarded 197 Nobel laureates and have given the world such great minds as Mahler, Marx, Freud, and Einstein. Director John Curtin bravely tackles the seemingly taboo question in this compelling documentary, which includes commentary by former Israeli President Shimon Peres, Alan Dershowitz, Dr. Ruth Westheimer, and others.
