Film Pittsburgh makes films free for EBT card holders

Posted November 4, 2025

PITTSBURGH, PA — November 4, 2025 — Film Pittsburgh recognizes the hardships faced by many members of our community. Inspired by the generosity of Row House Cinema, Film Pittsburgh will offer free tickets for EBT/SNAP Card Holders at all regularly priced Three Rivers Film Festival screenings at the Harris Theater in Downtown Pittsburgh and The Lindsay Theater in Sewickley, PA (excluding specially priced screenings). To use this offer, Card Holders may show their cards at the box office up to 30 minutes before showtime.

Virtual screenings are also available to those who cannot afford the cost, despite the cause of financial hardship, and would like to enjoy the films from home using code FILMFORALL25.

Speaking about their new Film For All initiative, Film Pittsburgh’s Executive Director Shanna Carrick states, “For every moment in your life there is a film that will help you find comfort, insight, or an escape. Movies exist to tell the stories that span across the full range of human experiences, and we believe that film is for everyone regardless of economic status. Film Pittsburgh is proud to support independent filmmakers by giving them a platform for recognition as well as our local moviegoers by creating opportunities to engage with cinema and connect with their community.”

Film Pittsburgh is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to present independent films from around the world, deepening audiences’ understanding of various cultures, expanding acceptance, and recognizing our common humanity. Their broad range of programming is designed to reach people of all races, religions, ages, and abilities, and emphasis is placed on collaboration with other organizations.
