O Pioneer, a new documentary from the talented husband and wife duo Jonathan Lacocque and Clara Lehmann, celebrates the spirit of the pioneer by giving us a glimpse into the lives of three Appalachians from West Virginia: a blacksmith, a seamstress, and a chaplain. Featuring wonderful animation and beautiful narration, the film follows these modern-day pioneers as they embark on a journey that unfolds in the midst of a pandemic. Blending poetic vignettes, archival pioneer footage, and candid moments with each of its three subjects, O Pioneer encourages us to not only seek out but champion the pioneer that lives within us all.
