1946: The Mistranslation That Shifted Culture
Pittsburgh Premiere

The discovery of never-before-seen archives at Yale University uncovered the origins of homophobia within the Christian church: an erroneous 1946 translation of the term “homosexual” in the bible. That mistranslation has become a weapon used against the LGBTQIA+ community ever since. Director Rocky Roggio’s experience as the queer daughter of a minister provides an incredible perspective from which to explore this deeply divisive subject.
