Any Day Now is a heartfelt drama that captures with moving detail the lives of an Iranian refugee family in Finland as they await the final decision of whether or not they will be granted official asylum status. Featuring superb performances, naturalistic cinematography and a subtle but touching story, Ramezan’s narrative feature debut follows 13-year-old Ramin Mahdipour and his family as they try to remain positive despite the looming danger of deportation.
Official Selection–Berlin, Prague, Beijing International Film Festivals
“Hamy Ramezan draws upon his own family’s experience of fleeing the war in Iran for Finland in his debut...This is the sort of family we’d all like to be a part of...” —Amber Wilkinson, Screen Daily
