Felix and Meira
Pittsburgh Premiere
Meira is a young, married mother struggling to act within the parameters of her Hasidic faith. Felix is mourning the recent death of his estranged father. The two meet in a local coffee shop and though Meira, at first, rebuffs Felix’s attempts at conversation, eventually, she raises her head and (literally) looks him in the eyes. Set in Montreal’s Mile End district, the film is a beautifully sensitive portrait of two lost souls and their search for connection. Hadas Yaron (Fill the Void) gives another memorable performance as a young Hasidic woman with a big decision to make.
