In 1942 Paris, 20-year-old Annette Zelman, who is Jewish, has fallen in love with a Catholic boy, Jean Jausion. When the couple is engaged, Jean’s father enlists a friend with Gestapo connections to help break them up. The disastrous results drive Jean further away from his parents and fill his father with remorse, but there’s no turning back. This extremely engaging film is a dramatization of the actual events described in the book Informing on Jews During the Occupation by Laurent Joly. The Story of Annette Zelman is a riveting Romeo and Juliet-style romance with magnificent acting led by young Ilona Bachelie as Annette. (Adult content: sex, nudity)
