The Wedding Day

Long buried secrets of an affluent Polish family resurface in the masterful film, The Wedding Day. When two Israeli men arrive unexpectedly the morning of Kasia’s wedding to deliver a Righteous Among Nations Medal to her grandfather Antoni, it stirs memories of a previous wedding that occurred in 1941. For Antoni, who has dementia, the two weddings begin to converge unleashing family secrets and revealing the most disgraceful event in recent Polish history. The incredible blending of images both past and present create a motion picture collage of what is and what has been while also pointing to what could be. A stunning film that promises to remain with the viewer long after the credits have rolled, The Wedding Day was Poland’s submission to the Academy Awards for Best International Film.
